Happenings

Our little girl just lost her tooth and has a HUGE new gap to show for it. Wow, it makes her look like a growing-up girl. We're struck so often with how quickly this is happening, and it tugs at our hearts and reminds us to try to enjoy every day, every moment. Tim and I were just talking today about how vital this cherishing of the small moments, the everyday with our children and one another, is, and just how hard it is when the day to day can be such a challenge. Something we're always striving toward, failing at, and getting just glimpses of clear joy as we seek to love one another with abandon.

Another marker of the passage of time is that our boy has graduated to a big boy bed. Tim did a lovely job of making it, and Asa and Emmy have been roomies for about a week now. The transition has gone much smoother than we expected, with minimal keeping each other awake and some sweet moments, such as yesterday morning when Tim went in and found them together in Emmy's bed reading a book. Ahhh...

And Tim, always the creative one, decided to celebrate their first night together by making eye patches for the reading of Treasure Island (found in the Henry's house...thanks!). A good time was had by all the mateys.

Finally, our baby boy made the big move into his own room, which has been good for us all. Here he is enjoying his first night in his big crib. You can see his eczema here, sweet boy. It really comes and goes and is a constant battle, which can be distressing, but as you can also see, it doesn't dampen his spirits!
